Mission Statement
LodgeWell Publishing mission is to partner with authors to help turn their lessons learned into lessons shared with the world through the creation of high quality, professionally published books. We aim to empower readers and inspire them to strive for excellence.
The LodgeWell Story
When I was in junior high school, I vividly recall hearing the word valedictorian for the first time. I was in the auditorium for graduation rehearsal when my principal said, “Let’s congratulate this year’s valedictorian…”
Vale- WHO?!
You can’t strive for something if you don’t know it exists, and sadly, I felt I had the potential to become the valedictorian had I known about it early enough. And so, the seed of LodgeWell Publishing was unwittingly planted.

The Seed
For the next twenty years or so, even though that experience stayed vivid in my mind, the LodgeWell seed sat dormant. I graduated from high school and college, got married, and had children. I became laser focused on their development and mastering my role as their official first learning coach. With patience and consistency, I taught them all to read by the age of three. When it was time for kindergarten, they were all reading at a fourth-grade reading level, confidently ready to begin school. So, for several years, I was up to my ears in picture books, reading multiple picture books to my multiple children, and having my multiple children read multiple picture books to me, multiple times a day. I became well-versed in story arcs, character development, story pace, and artwork placement and direction.
As my daughters grew more conscious of the stories they were reading, I became more selective. Like many girl dads with young, impressionable daughters, I wanted characters they could see themselves in and stories that would inspire. But then I thought to myself, ‘Why look for yourself in characters when you can be… the actual characters?”
So, in an attempt to write things into existence, I wrote a book about my daughters striving for and achieving valedictorian status. I wanted to inspire my girls to strive for academic excellence, while empowering readers with important information far and wide, and forever and ever.
It was by far one of the best decisions I ever made!

A Lesson Learned, A Lesson Shared With the World
I dived headfirst into understanding the publishing process! I read and studied the latest books about self-publishing, sought out knowledge from local publishers, printers, and college professors, as well as taking some forward thinking and innovative self-publishing courses. I had one chance to publish my first book, and I was going to make sure it was done right!
